On the road

our new trailer with Dave's custom built boxes.

It has been a while since I have updated our where abouts. We have either not had an internet connection or have been to exhausted to blog at the end of the day. So here you go, a HUGE update starting from May 27th.

After a month break in Wichita, KS with Dave's parents, it was time to get back on the road. We left Wichita at 5:30am Friday morning in hopes to make it  as far as possible. We were headed to Dayton, Ohio for the wedding of Andrea, one of Dave cousins.

After 14 hour of driving we stopped in Marshal, Illinois to camp. It was the best camp site so far! It was only $8 and there were little to no bugs. There was a playground right across the street and the out house was not to bad. I made us all dinner and we were off to bed. 14 hours on the road is kind of draining. We all slept very comfortable that night, the weather was wonderful!

After a 5:30am departure a nap was necessary!

I thought a drive through to buy beer was hilarious!

JJ found Freddy the Frog!
We were up with the sun and soon back on the road, eager to get to Ohio to see Dave's family!

In keeping with our bad timing, we made it to Indianapolis in time for the Indianapolis 500 NASCAR race. fortunately, the traffic wasn't terrible but we were able to see all the airplane advertising and some fighter jets performing aerobatics for the race.
Camping in Illinois

This was the best camp spot yet! $8 and NO BUGS!!!
While we were in Ohio we had to find a place for Sammy, our dog, to stay. We would be out with family and it was too hot for her to stay in the car. We were able to find a locally owned kennel, Balmorhea Kennels in Dayton, Ohio. The owners were fabulous and took good care of Sammy. They even offered to give her a bath while we were away. The biggest perk was that we wanted to pick Sammy up on Monday, Memorial Day and every other kennel was closed for drop off or pick up. The staff at Balmorhea listened and understood our situation and they were willing to accommodate! We were very thankful and will definitely use them again if needed!

We arrived in Dayton, Ohio just in time to shower fast and run to the rehearsal dinner. I was so excited to see all of the family that I misread the directions to the dinner and we drove almost all the way to the to were the wedding would be held the next day. Oops!
