PNWU Fun RUN!

WE DID IT!
We, as a family, ran in our first 5K!
We did the run in about 40 mins and loved every moment. Dave's school puts on the "Run for your Life" every year and we plan to do it again next year. There were about 500 people from all over the community who came out to enjoy the gorgeous weather and participate in the fun run!

I hope to get pictures soon, but because I was running I did not take any.

Cannon Beach and Seaside, OR

The beginning of March for me, Courtney, was wonderful! I had an opportunity to go the Young Lives retreat they were holding in Seaside, OR. I was thrilled to be able to reconnect with other Young Lives leaders and allow the Lord to sweetly show/remind me why he has called me into this ministry. In our current stage of life I am not has connected as I was in Anchorage but I am content and excited to be right where the Lord has me. The most special treat of the retreat was not the retreat itself but getting to wrap my arms around my wonderful sweet friends from Alaska!! A lot of tears, laughs and hugs were a big part of my weekend with my friends!

While I was in Seaside, OR, Dave and the boys traveled the Oregon coast seeing the sights. A weekend of just Daddy and his boys was just what the Doctor ordered. They visited the historic sights of Lewis and Clark, they hit up the Arcade, they drove over the big bridge in Astoria that connects OR and WA and they ran on the beach collecting Sea shells; and apparently, from the picture above, slugs. Bleech!
I joined my little crew on Sunday after I said my tearful good byes and we headed to Cannon Beach for some yummy sea food and a leisurely walk on the beach.

It was a wonderful blessed time! God is so good and I am thankful for his provision and the love he has for us!

Benn's new bike

I love Craigslist! We scored this sweet bike for $20 and thanks to Dave and his obsession with bikes he had all the right equipment to change out a few things (brakes) and then after changing the tubes in each tire, Benn was ready to rock and roll!

Or would it be RIDE and ROLL?

We did not waste one second! We headed to Cowiche Canyon to test out his mountain bike!!
Grams and Pops were here and got to experience the whole thing!!

We love biking!

Snow Shoeing

We ventured up to Chinook Pass, about an hour from Yakima to snow shoe. There was plenty of snow on a this gorgeous day! We went with friends of ours, Patrick and Maire. Patrick goes to school with Dave and Marie volunteers with me in Young Lives. We had a wonderful time hiking through the woods and along the snowy river.
Benn going through his tunnel.

Enjoying hot chocolate afterward

Yeah for snow caves!

They are walking along a snow covered log crossing a river!
After we were done hiking the guys stopped to make the boys a snow cave. Benn dug a tunnel and Patrick built a snow man. Marie and I ventured out again only to find a snow covered out house that was mark for "men". There was not a "women" potty anywhere to be found.

This was before we headed out.

Helicopter Lands at PNWU

The boys were so excited to watch a Helicopter land in Daddy's schools parking lot!!
Even more excited when they were able to explorer the inside!
Benn as the pilot

JJ as the pilot

There were also a fire trucks and two ambulance. They were cool, but I think the helicopter beat them all out.

Then we said our good byes and watched it take off. Which, in my opinion was WAY better!
