Fort Nelson to Chetwynd OR NOT!!

I will start off by saying: We could not decided if we were going 500 miles or 300 miles.

Sweet Boys in the early morning
Its Sunday! Holy Cow, the days seem to slip by so fast, but we love to be on the road. The kids are getting use to driving 100-120 miles in one stretch before asking to get out. It is impressive and we, as parents, are thrilled. We try to stop at the big stops to give them time to run and play some ball.

On this morning we got up and had a great Sunday breakfast at "The Fort,"  Caleb made friends with some locals as always. I love talking with them, their accents are great!

We fueled up and were on the road again. Still not sure how far we would go. . .

Wildlife is wonderful to see, today we saw a lynx. They are beautiful and walk with grace. I am continually in awe of God creation.

Our break down in Ft St John
~Fun Canadian Fact: There are an abundance of heavy duty trucks in Canada. Dads, moms, Grandmas, Grandpas, they all drive a heavy duty truck. The $1.41 for a liter of gas must not bother them~

We rolled into Ft St John for gas and that is when it happened. Our van was making a funny noise and we smelled something burning! Upon further investigation we figured out the bearings in our AC compressor were shot. We would not be going any farther until this minor fix was. . .well fixed.
The Owner of the truck stop where we stopped was really nice and between him and his buddy (and their heavy duty trucks) they gave us a ride to Pomeroy Inn & Suites. Our home for the next two nights.

Good ol Alaskan fix with Duck Tape!
So God made our decision easy, we were not going to 500 or 300 we were going 236 miles.

Since it was Sunday and everything was closed all we could do was wait. We took the boys to the Pomeroy Hotel pool and water slide! The boys were in Heaven.
