Leavenworth, Washington

We spent a wonderful weekend in
Leavenworth, WA. A cute little town outside of Wenatchee, WA modeled after a Bavarian village.
Dave was invited, by one of his friends he attends med school with, to join him at the Washington Association of Family Practice conference for residents and med students. While Dave and his friend sat in conference all day I ventured out into the quaint little town with the wife of the friend who invited Dave. She has two kiddos and we had a blast walking up and down the streets checking out all the cute shops.
We stepped into a fun little toy shop with many fun handmade toys and then a hat shop to try on different kinds of creative hats.

Baby is on my back

After the conference Dave joined us in the room for a wrestling match between him and the boys before we headed down town to enjoy authentic Bavarian food at Andreas Keller's. It was very yummy and we all enjoyed it!

On Sunday, my friend and I took the kiddos on a fun walk around Blackbird Island while we waited for the husbands to get out of their last class. It was wonderful to get out and enjoy the fresh crisp air.
After Dave got done with his classes we headed back down town to see a couple more shops. I bought a Christmas Pickle from the Kris Kringle store. Read about the Christmas Pickle HERE!
Dave was happy to get to stop in the, Icicle Brewing Company, the local brewery they have in Leavenworth, and try a couple of their top beers.

I gave Caleb a strawberry nutria-grain bar. He decided to wear it.

Fun barn we drove past during our drive to Leavenworth

We had a relaxing time in Leavenworth. It was enjoyable to get out of our regular schedule and take an adventure. I look forward to going back at some point during our time living in Yakima.
